Mr. Li oversees the Fund’s engagement with about 90 IMF member countries and a wide range of macroeconomic and financial policy issues.

He has served as Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, where he led key policy departments and played an important role in state-owned bank reform, renminbi internationalization, anti–money-laundering legislation, and the development of China’s macroprudential framework.

Mr. Li has served as Vice Mayor of Chongqing, responsible for financial development, regulation, and foreign trade and investment.
